"Dragon, Dragon How Do You Do?"

Hello 6th grade students!

After finishing Dragon, Dragon, think about the character of the youngest son, who was successful at slaying the mischievous dragon. Why do you think that he, from all of the cobbler's sons, was able to slay the dragon? What did he do differently and why? How were his actions and character different from his older brothers'? Give examples to explain your answer.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. The youngest son from the cobbler was the wisest because he took his father's advice and did what he was told (slay the dragon). He listened to his father and said the funny poem which made the dragon laugh. Because of this action the dragons head got slayed and he died. He married the kings daughter and took half the land of the kingdom...:)

  2. The youngest son was the wisest because he listened to his father and said the poem and because he did this the dragon had died. So the lesson sort of is to listen to your parents and how the youngest son listened to his parent he had won by slaying the dragon.

  4. Although, he was neither the smartest nor the strongest, he slayed the dragon, because he listened to his father and took his advice. he slayed the dragon because he was weak and when he said "dragon dragon how do you do I come from the king to murder you" and because he was weak the dragon broke down and started laughing and that's when he slayed the dragon. I do not think it would have worked for the older sons because they actually had a chance of beating him.

  5. From all the sons he was able to because he took his fathers advice and said the poem. He listened to his cobbler son because he wasn't as smart and as tough as his brothers so he took his dads advice and "accidentally" slay the dragon. His actions were different because he didn't say that his dad is a crazy cobbler and his advice was not correct and used there own advice for them selves.

  6. From all the sons i think the youngest son was the smartest one from all of them because he followed his fathers directions, and said the poem. i think he was smart because he did not call his father crazy.i think this story teaches you to always listen to your parents and never call them crazy because they know what they are saying.

  7. He was the smartest and youngest son because he always listened to his father and obeyed the rules he was given. He was able to slay the dragon because he had said to the dragon the special poem that he has to say for him to slay the dragon

The son slayed the dragon and was different from his brothers, was because he listened to his father and said the poem. dragon dragon how do you do, i've come from the king to murder you. when the dragon heard that he started laughing so hard that he expect being dead slayed by the son. therefore the son rescued his 2 brothers, got the princess, got the spell book, found the wizard book and made the queen human once more. This was because he wasent brave he wasnt strong, he asked for advice and got it right. and thats what makes him different from his 2 brothers
